A multi-billion pound agency looking to grow in renewables

Due to the sheer size of the agency, which turned over $2.3bn in 2022, NES needed support developing a new website that catered to its global audience. Before partnering with Venn, NES’ website had multiple country folders for each of their target markets. While they wanted to keep their country folders, the volume of URLs on their previous site required optimisation, and their site speed needed improvement.

They wanted to focus on reducing their onsite country folders and prioritise their URLs to create a valuable online destination for their global target markets. Although their previous website performed well, they wanted to take their SEO and business to the next level. NES aimed to expand their visibility in the global renewable energy recruitment space. 

NES aspired to build a modern website with bespoke functionality that would give it a polished and professional look. They wanted to create a website with simplified user journeys and optimised content that engaged users and appealed to the Google algorithm. 

During the discovery phase, when we got to understand NES and their pain points, it was clear they had frustrations with the flexibility of their previous website. They highlighted how they were not receiving a level of service that met their expectations. NES also mentioned how the product they were using was rigid, lacked development, and failed to give them the flexibility to integrate their requests in a way that aligned with their goals.

So, in 2022, we partnered with NES to help them overcome their challenges and build an optimised website with a tailored service fit for a global recruitment agency.

A premium website with a polished design and optimised content

In collaboration with NES’ in-house marketing director and manager, we worked on a brief for the project, combining our expert advice on recruitment websites and marketing with their long-term objectives. In 2023, we delivered a tailored solution to NES headed up by one of our experienced project managers, with support from an internal team of dedicated designers, developers, copywriters and tech SEO specialists.

Our specialist design and development team ensured the new NES site was enhanced with the look and feel of a global brand. We also stripped back the volume of URLs, ensuring the navigation provided simple and effective user journeys with valuable landing pages and onsite content.

Speaking of content, we focused much of our earlier efforts on the NES project on optimising their existing content to increase keyword rankings and visibility. Our copywriters also produced new SEO-driven landing pages and blog content to increase NES' visibility in the renewable energy industry - a sector in which they were keen to expand their presence.   

As part of the content strategy, we also produced a campaign on the Inflation Reduction Act. Here, we created a dedicated landing page to promote their talent acquisition services within the renewables space. This campaign included a gated download report and client showcases to help grow NES' presence across the US and highlight them as thought leaders within the renewables space.

Conducted by our tech SEO specialists, we continue to carry out monthly audits and SEO checks to ensure the website performs at optimal levels year-round. Our strategists also deliver quarterly reports, giving our clients a thorough overview of the site’s performance.

Brand expansion and significant growth in keyword visibility

Since the NES site went live, we’ve seen it achieve incredible results. Through our SEO-focused content, we’ve helped NES reach a 57% increase in total keywords, rising from 14,728 to 22,918 within a year. With their focus primarily on renewable energy, our efforts saw the NES site attain a 144% increase in ‘renewables’ related keywords. These results have played a significant part in helping NES grow its visibility in renewables.

By conducting monthly audits and regular tech checks, our tech SEO specialists have maintained a health score of 86 - 95% in Ahrefs over the last year. This result shows how we’ve consistently maintained the performance of the NES site, ensuring any errors that could impact site speed, SEO and search rankings are addressed. 

Their impressive health score embodies that of a high-performing website. It places NES in a position to gain more relevant traffic, generate quality leads and achieve higher conversion rates. 

NES has utilised their new website to great effect, producing consistent content that adds value to their target audience and existing client and candidate network. They regularly upload high-performing blogs to the site via the Vennture Media Hub, which provides expert insight into their target markets. 

They have also produced several pieces of gated content, including their latest download: Chemical Recruitment: Compliance Transparency & Flexibility. These detailed pieces address the latest developments in their target markets, with original insight from their internal experts, demonstrating why they don’t just claim but are genuine market leaders. 

NES has made great use of the Vennture CMS. For example, they regularly update their home page banner with their latest campaigns. Doing so has helped make the site appear fresh while giving their content an increased opportunity to engage with users and generate leads. 

Looking ahead, we will continue to collaborate with NES and shift our attention to producing content that will increase the visibility of NES’s work in the chemicals industry. Our tech SEO team continues to carry out monthly audits and checks, ensuring the results we’ve achieved are upheld. 

We also continued to work closely with NES’ marketing team. Our strategists schedule monthly check-ins to discuss the site's current performance and ideas for future campaigns to grow the NES brand further. 

NES has seen significant growth since partnering with Venn, so much so that they’re launching an additional brand - NES Advantage. As of this writing, we’re working on a brand launch for their new business venture, which will see them launch MSP, RPO and talent consultancy services to the global market.
