Venn scales offering to help employers cope with recruitment pressures

We’re excited to announce expansion of our offering, giving employers new ways to tackle intensifying recruitment pressures and shifting candidate expectations.

This announcement marks a new phase for Venn Digital, as we continue to scale our agency offering while, for the first time, also providing solutions directly to employers - all with the aim of creating a stronger candidate experience beyond traditional job boards.

Recent data highlights the scale of the hiring challenges currently faced by employers. 

The latest KPMG/REC UK Report on Jobs shows that candidate availability rose in August at the fastest rate since 2020, yet companies are still struggling to fill roles. Research from Robert Walters found that 70 per cent of hiring managers have seen a rise in applications, with almost three in five saying this surge is slowing recruitment because many applicants do not meet even the basic role requirements.

These trends point to a threefold problem. 

AI-powered tools and easy-apply functions are driving a surge in irrelevant applications, leaving companies overwhelmed and risking strong candidates being overlooked. At the other end of the scale, the cost of traditional job boards is prohibitive for many small businesses which makes it challenging to compete for staff - roles get low visibility and the right candidates are unaware of them. Meanwhile, jobseeker expectations are shifting with more people looking to understand a company’s values and culture before applying - something traditional job boards rarely provide.

In response to these pressures, we have introduced two new tools designed to help employers regain control over their hiring: 

  • A free job search plugin gives companies a way to post jobs on their own websites and improve visibility of their roles by appearing in Google Jobs. 

  • A careers site builder provides employers with an end-to-end experience. In addition to job search functionality it allows them to create a fully branded careers site - without technical expertise - and provides a social hub where they can showcase their culture and values. 

Both solutions offer custom application forms and filtering features such as commute search to improve application quality, plus candidate scoring based on information submitted.
